Hale Ku'ike, the standard in memory care, is looking for energetic and compassionate Activity Leaders to join our teams at Pali and Bayside.

Job Summary
The Activity Leader will be responsible for involving residents in an activity program that meets their abilities, needs, and interests. He/She is responsible to perform the following according to Hake Ku’ike’s mission, facility standards, procedures, and resident care plans.
Essential Job Functions
· Assess and monitor residents' ongoing abilities in order to provide appropriate engagement activities that foster their physical health and wellness
· Lead and/or assist with implementing resident activities in collaboration with the Activities Director
· Evaluate the effectiveness of resident-centered activities, and notifies the Activities Director of any specific resident concerns
· Work collaboratively and effectively with Hale Ku’ike volunteers
· Keep residents' common living areas clean and uncluttered
· Demonstrate initiative and work well with Hale Ku’ike staff members in a helpful, respectful and courteous manner
· Assist residents in meeting their social and emotional needs through positive interactions with staff, family and other residents
· Respond appropriately to residents' requests for help and maintains positive relationships with residents' friends and family members
· Follow proper channels of communication within the Activities team regarding shifts and schedules, resident activities, and other information
· Work with facility's live-in companion dog to help engage residents
· Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
· Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Additional study and/or experience in geriatric health related subjects recommended
· TB clearance
· Physician’s health clearance
· Full COVID-19 vaccination
· Experience working with cognitively impaired adults or background in therapeutic recreational activities is desirable
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to communicate effectively with residents, families, managers, and staff
· Prior work or volunteer experience leading group activities is highly desired (Experience in a healthcare setting not required)
· Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
· Requires excellent communication skills across all levels of the company
· Must be a reliable team player
· Ability to adjust to a dynamic work environment

· Weekends are required.
