Job Description

Hawai‘i Green Growth.  Regular, Full-Time, RCUH Non-Civil Service position with the Hawai‘i Green Growth (HGG) project located in Honolulu, Hawai‘i. Telework is permissible with Principal Investigator’s approval. Continuation of employment is dependent upon program/operational needs, satisfactory work performance, availability of funds, and compliance with applicable Federal/State laws. 


MONTHLY SALARY:  Salary commensurate with qualifications. 



DUTIES:  Collaborates with the Aloha+ Dashboard & Partnerships Manager to support stated strategic priorities by writing scalable code using preferred programming languages. Creates dynamic software solutions that will enhance the Aloha+ Dashboard Platform. Develops back-end components, integrates user-facing elements, and streamlines data to API connectors. Designs and implements web and mobile applications for automation workflows and dashboard enhancement. Implements data management frameworks and adapts cyber security applications to the dashboard. Coordinates, prepares, and follows-up with partnership meetings and technical preparations for Local2030 Islands Network scalable dashboard models. Builds and implements Aloha+ Dashboard model for adaptability. Translates business requirements into technical specifications. Provides information and input regarding data development, maintenance, updates, and dashboard design. Pulls relevant data to inform the VLR, Midterm Review, and other reporting mechanisms. Maintains key master documents, organizational systems, and supports knowledge transfer documents/user guides for custom applications. Builds relevant tools and resources to support the dashboard's capacity. Coordinates with Network partners to implement data modeling scenarios for the impact dashboard. Coordinates VISTA members and interns, and acts as technical lead on special projects. 



PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION/TRAINING:  Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Artificial Intelligence (Al), or related field.  EXPERIENCE:  Three to five (3-5) years of related experience in computer science, software development, and database administration.  ABIL/KNOW/SKILLS:  Knowledge and familiarity with ArcGIS Hub and a wide variety of languages and technologies. Working knowledge of Python, SQL, C/C++, and JavaScript. Requires strong technical skills including data analysis and system integrations. Must have the ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications. PHYSICAL/MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS:  Must be able to support event logistics, which includes the ability to lift, carry, and set-up materials that weigh up to thirty (30) pounds. SECONDARY QUALIFICATIONS:  Familiarity and experience working with Hawai‘i’s geography, communities, industries and key partners. Aptitude for strategic thinking, innovation, and policy, as well as ability to thrive in adaptable and fast-paced work environments. Interests and commitment to local and global sustainability goals, HGG Local2030 Hub culture of collaboration and island values of aloha and mālama. Knowledge and interests to support Hawaiian language, culture, and traditions. Knowledge or familiarity of the following: Linux (Ubuntu, Fedora, RHEL/CentOS), MacOS Bash/Scripting Virtualization (VMware, Virtualbox, Docker) React, Angular, Node JS, UI Framework Storm, Flink, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Redis, Redux Network/CNE/CNO programming, CI/CD Tools (Jenkins, SonarQube, GitCI, Concourse, Cypress), SQL, Elasticsearch, MongoDB, Neo4j, Graph Customized build tools (CMake, make, Ant, Maven, Gradle/Webpack), Unit Test Development (Google Test, Junit), IDE’s (Visual Studio/Eclipse/IntelliJ/Atom), VCS (Git, SVN, Trac, Redmine, JIRA), Mobile App Development (Android), and Amazon AWS/Google Cloud.
