Job Description



Hawai‘i Center for AIDS.  Regular, Part-Time to Full-Time (50-100% FTE), RCUH Non-Civil Service position with the Hawai‘i Center for AIDS (HICFA), located in Honolulu, Hawai‘i.  Continuation of employment is dependent upon program/operational needs, satisfactory work performance, availability of funds, and compliance with applicable Federal/State laws. 


MINIMUM MONTHLY SALARY:  $1,176.50/Mon. (@ 50% FTE) to $2,509/Mon. (@ 100% FTE). 


DUTIES:  Assists in data collection and coordination of various aspects of the multiple research projects under the HICFA.  Performs clerical/administrative work.  Assists in performing procurement functions.  Assists in the preparation of fiscal reports and budgets.  Provides support in project administration, personnel management, and contract management.  Provides institutional support and technical assistance for the international research projects. 


PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION/TRAINING:  Associate’s Degree from an accredited community college (48 college credit hours plus one (1) year of office or business experience in a professional environment may substitute for an Associate’s Degree).  EXPERIENCE:  At least one (1) year of organizational, administrative, or office experience, preferably in a research, medical, scientific, educational or equivalent professional environment.  ABIL/KNOW/SKILLS:  Strong working knowledge of computer programs, including Microsoft Word and Excel. Able to construct advanced Excel spreadsheets using formulas, filters and macros.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Ability to edit documents for grammatical correctness. Must possess excellent interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving and math skills, and be able to work independently and exhibit sound judgement and analysis.  Must be non-judgmental, detail-oriented, creative, very flexible in problem solving, and able to multi-task under deadlines and high-stress situations.  Must be able to prioritize workload and have flexible working hours. Must possess a valid driver’s license (and if use of personal vehicle on the job is required, must also have valid personal driver’s insurance equivalent to Hawai‘i’s No-Fault Driver’s Insurance) and maintain throughout the duration of employment.  Post Offer/Employment Condition: Must be able to pass a post offer criminal background check.  PHYSICAL/MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS:  Able to lift and carry up to thirty (30) pounds unassisted. POLICY AND/OR REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS:  As a condition of employment, employee will be subject to all applicable RCUH policies and procedures and, as applicable, subject to University of Hawai‘i's and/or business entity's policies and procedures.  Violation of RCUH's, UH's, or business entity's policies and/or procedures or applicable State or Federal laws and/or regulations may lead to disciplinary action (including, but not limited to possible termination of employment, personal fines, civil and/or criminal penalties, etc.).  


SECONDARY QUALIFICATIONS:  Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university.  Two (2) or more years of experience working in a clinical research program or administrative environment.  Knowledge of UH, RCUH, or State of Hawai‘i policies and procedures.
