HIV Transmission Reduction Surveillance Specialist

$4,079 (SR20C) Salary commensurate w/ training and experience

 

This position uses data reported to the HRSB Surveillance Section to identify individuals diagnosed with HIV who are not in medical care.  This position uses the HIV surveillance data to identify newly diagnosed HIV positive persons and provides case information to the HIV Transmission Reduction Coordinator to initiate partner notification and EIS.  This position also reviews HIV surveillance data for evidence that newly diagnosed individuals have been successfully linked to HIV medical care and provides information to the coordinator to initiate outreach and referral services for newly diagnosed individuals who have not linked to HIV medical care.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

EDUCATION:  Graduation from an accredited four (4) year college or university with a bachelor’s degree.  Coursework must include a minimum of three (3) courses in the biological sciences of which at least one course must be beyond the introductory level.  Successful completion of such coursework must demonstrate an aptitude for, and a basic knowledge of the biological sciences.

 

EXPERIENCE:  One and one-half (1 ½) years of progressively responsible professional work experience which demonstrated knowledge and application of the principles, practices, methods and techniques used in the identification, prevention and control of communicable diseases.

 

LICENSE:  Valid driver’s license preferred.
