HUMAN RESOURCES/CLIENT SERVICES MANAGEMENT TRAINEE – ID# 221242.​ 

 

Research Corporation of the University of Hawai‘i. (4) Regular, Full-Time, RCUH Non-Civil Service position with the Human Resources Department, Research Corporation of the University of Hawai‘i (RCUH) core staff located in Honolulu, Hawai‘i. Continuation of employment is dependent upon program/operational needs, satisfactory work performance, availability of funds, and compliance with applicable Federal/State laws. 

 

MINIMUM MONTHLY SALARY:  $3,920/Mon. 

 

DUTIES:  Under the direction, guidance, and development of the Director of Human Resources. This is an entry level management position. Progression and promotional opportunities within first 6-12 months will depend on the incumbent’s demonstrated abilities, quality of work performance and ability to problem-solve, which results in measurable and productive results. Retention will depend on demonstrated abilities and progression.  Assignments will vary in complexity and responsibilities.  Assignments may include Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), Employee Benefits Administration, Compensation Administration, Human Resources regulatory matters or other functional areas of the Human Resources Department. Promotional opportunities will be one or two functional areas of the department, and supervising support staff assigned. 

 

PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION/TRAINING:  Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university in Human Resources Management or related field. (Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university, Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Certification, and two to four (2-4) years of work experience in similar administrative work may substitute for a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or related field.).  EXPERIENCE:  One to three (1-3) years of experience in human resources or related management responsibilities.  ABIL/KNOW/SKILLS:  Knowledge of Federal and Hawai‘i employment regulations, human resources principles and concepts. Knowledge of computerized human resources information system, administration of policies and procedures. Knowledge of good work practices for office administration and clerical work. Must have problem solving skills, judgment, and accuracy.  Ability to work independently on assignments. Good verbal and written communication skills. Proficient in keyboarding (i.e., acceptable speed and accuracy). Proficient in MS Word and MS Excel applications, email, Internet, and general abilities to use data base software. Post Offer/Employment Condition: Must be able to pass a post offer criminal background check for working with highly confidential and sensitive information which includes being fingerprinted and having a federal background check performed.POLICY AND/OR REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS:  As a condition of employment, employee will be subject to all applicable RCUH policies and procedures and, as applicable, subject to University of Hawai‘i's and/or business entity's policies and procedures.  Violation of RCUH's, UH's, or business entity's policies and/or procedures or applicable State or Federal laws and/or regulations may lead to disciplinary action (including, but not limited to possible termination of employment, personal fines, civil and/or criminal penalties, etc.).  

 

SECONDARY QUALIFICATIONS:  Juris Doctorate or Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources. Prior experience working in a Human Resources Department performing duties similar to the RCUH Human Resources processes. Experience with a computerized Human Resources system (i.e., PeopleSoft).  Knowledge of EEO/Affirmative Action Programs, labor laws, UH and RCUH policies and procedures.
