Research Corporation of the University of Hawai‘i.  (2) Regular, Full-Time, RCUH Non-Civil Service position with the Human Resources Department, Research Corporation of the University of Hawai‘i (RCUH) core staff located in Honolulu, Hawai‘i. Continuation of employment is dependent upon program/operational needs, satisfactory work performance, availability of funds, and compliance with applicable Federal/State laws. 


MONTHLY SALARY RANGE:  $3,250-$3,500/Mon. 


DUTIES:  Responsible for providing clerical staff support in various human resources assignments including, but not limited to, assisting with employment/hiring actions, meeting with employees to assist with new hire paperwork, drafting job descriptions, job postings, employee benefits processing and administration, data entry input/audit, workers compensation and other personnel/benefits documents, etc.  This is a progression job beginning with an entry level (Level I). Progression will be based on an employee’s demonstrated ability to meet satisfactory work standards and the ability to assume increased responsibilities and accountabilities. Level I and II, will be under the Senior Human Resources Associate for daily assignments and development. 


PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION/TRAINING:  Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university.  (For Level I, we will accept an Associate’s Degree or equivalent with one to three (1-3) years of experience in administrative office may substitute for a Bachelor’s Degree dependent upon ability to demonstrate competence).  EXPERIENCE:  This classification is used as an Entry and Progression classification.  It will assume the employee to start at Level I (unless there is justified experience to begin at Level II).  Progression will be based upon employee’s satisfactory work performance and demonstrated ability to handle progressively responsible assignments in personnel/human resources management.  At least one (1) year of office work experience.  ABIL/KNOW/SKILLS:  Knowledge of office administration and clerical work. Knowledge of telephone etiquette and customer service.  Must express enthusiasm and a willingness to learn job duties and RCUH policies and procedures quickly with a high level of energy. Must possess basic administrative skills, and some basic computer skills to work with automated Human Resources Management Systems (HRMS).  Must be able to manage a fast-paced, high-volume of work environment while assisting customers via frequent phone calls and a high volume of emails, daily. Must be able to multi-task. Ability to work independently on assignments. Good verbal and written communication skills. Proficient in keyboarding (i.e., acceptable speed and accuracy). Proficient in MS Word and MS Excel applications, email, Internet, and general abilities to use data base software.  Post Offer/Employment Condition:Must be able to pass a post offer criminal background check for working with highly confidential and sensitive information which includes being fingerprinted and having a federal background check performed.  POLICY AND/OR REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS:  As a condition of employment, employee will be subject to all applicable RCUH policies and procedures and, as applicable, subject to University of Hawai‘i's and/or business entity's policies and procedures.  Violation of RCUH's, UH's, or business entity's policies and/or procedures or applicable State or Federal laws and/or regulations may lead to disciplinary action (including, but not limited to possible termination of employment, personal fines, civil and/or criminal penalties, etc.).  


SECONDARY QUALIFICATIONS:  Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university in Human Resources or related field of study.  Experience working in a Human Resources office/department. Previous working experience with HRMS system (i.e., PeopleSoft) or other specialized Human Resources Management and/or information systems. Working knowledge and experience of EEO and Affirmative Action Programs, labor laws, UH and RCUH policies and procedures.
