- Take food orders and relay them to kitchens or serving counters for preparation.
- Stock service stations with items like ice, napkins, or straws.
- Remove trays and stack dishes for return to the kitchen after meals.
- Record amounts and types of special food items served.
- Total checks, present them to customers, and accept payment for services.
