Waikiki Health is seeking a full-time Health Educator.
Pay rate for this role is $21 per hour.
Schedule: 8-hour workdays with variable/flexible hours depending on project needs. Overtime may be required.

Summary of position: Provide preventative health education on HIV, Hepatitis C, & STDs to clients enrolled in substance abuse treatment programs on the State of Hawaii. Provide confidential HIV and Hepatitis C outreach, testing, and linkage to community resources.
Qualifications and abilities
● Education
○ High school degree and public speaking experience are required.
● Qualifications
○ Valid Hawaii State Driver’s License with clean driving abstract.
○ Phlebotomy trained or willing to be trained.
○ CPR/AED/First Aid Certified or willing to be certified.
○ TB Clearance.
○ Must have the ability to correspond through email, refer to online schedules and databases.
○ Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
○ Must be able to complete Outreach Testing Linking (OTL) training provided by the State of Hawaii Department of Health.
○ Must be able to travel inter-island
General Duties include but are not limited to
● Provide HIV/AIDS, STI, viral hepatitis prevention education.
● Provide information and referral resources about health and social services available in the community.
● Provide HIV, Hepatitis C, Gonorrhea, and Chlamydia counseling and testing both at outreach and clinical settings.
● Ensure all HIV/AIDS and/or Hepatitis C positive patients are referred and scheduled for medical follow up after receiving test results.
● Link patients to appropriate HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis C medical providers and community resources.
● Conduct patient follow-up to ensure services were obtained and provide additional support as needed.
● Other duties as assigned
