Job Overview

Assistant Store Manager is responsible to oversee the sales & operations of the House of Mana Up retail location they are assigned to and responsible for creating events and activations in store to support business growth and increase the House of Mana Up presence within the community. The Asst Manager will also support other retail activities that House of Mana Up manages as needed. 

 

The Assistant Store Manager will have experience in retail and knowledge of diverse business subjects such as sales, marketing, operations, and customer service.  An effective Assistant Store Manager will also be able to manage and motivate associates. 

 

The goal is to manage our store in ways that creates sales growth and provides a productive and happy work environment.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Oversee store associates and store operations
  • Interview, hire, and train new store associates
  • Prepare daily reports for associates with daily projections
  • Schedule and approve staff hours and breaks. 
  • Motivate sales staff to deliver excellent customer service and meet sales goals.
  • Creates and executes weekly and monthly store events and/or activations to drive sales and traffic.
  • Monitor inventory levels and order new products & supplies as required
  • Provide regular assistance to customers and provide troubleshooting expertise as needed
  • Answer phone calls and respond to store-related emails and other communications
  • Ensure physical location is properly maintained.
  • Take ownership of store sales goals and provide expertise to help meet sales goals.
  • Collaborate with management to create and implement sales projects
  • Lead by example in training, developing, and providing ongoing feedback and coaching on product knowledge, selling skills, merchandising, and delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Ensure level of customer service is a priority through regular assessment and follow up with team.
  • Maintains all visual merchandising standards, directives, promotions and overall cleanliness and organization of the sales floor and stockroom.
  • Meet or exceed profitability expectations for the store in sales, payroll, and shrink.
  • Controls company assets by meeting all operational measures.
  • Execute and comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Adapt to changes required by business.
  • Act with integrity and respect
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Works full-time hours 37.50-40.00 hours a week.
  • Supervises: All sales associates

Requirements

  • Preferred: knowledge of retail software (Shopify) 
  • Maintain a positive attitude 
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail 
  • 1-3 years of proven and successful experience as a sales associate, with an emphasis on sales performance and training
  • Leadership skills with an ability to connect positively with associates in a professional manner. 
  • Ambition to learn and improve management skills.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift at least 40 lbs.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule which will include closing one nights a week, two Saturdays and one Sunday, holidays and any in-store events.

This position reports to House of Mana Up’s Manager of Stores.
