Job Title: K-8 Director of Technology and Marketing
Job Summary: The K-8 School Education Tech Coordinator & IT Administrator will be responsible for overseeing and managing the integration of technology within the school’s curriculum and operations. This individual will support teachers and students in the use of educational technology, maintain the school’s IT infrastructure, and oversee the school’s social media and web presence. The ideal candidate will combine expertise in educational technology, information systems, and digital communications.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Educational Technology Coordination:
o Provide training and support to teachers, students, and staff on the use of educational technology tools and resources.
o Collaborate with faculty to integrate technology into the classroom to enhance learning experiences.
o Research and recommend new technology tools and programs that align with the school’s curriculum and educational goals.
o Assist in the development and implementation of technology-related curriculum initiatives.
o Ensure that students and staff adhere to the school’s policies and guidelines regarding the use of technology and digital resources.
2. IT Administration:
o Manage and maintain the school’s IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, hardware, and software systems.
o Troubleshoot and resolve IT-related issues for staff, students, and faculty.
o Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware, software, and network systems.
o Ensure the security of the school’s IT systems and data by implementing appropriate measures and protocols.
o Manage the school’s email system, cloud-based storage, and student information systems.
3. Social Media and Web Presence Management:
o Oversee the creation, development, and management of the school’s website and digital communications platforms.
o Create and curate content for the school’s social media accounts, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and other platforms as applicable.
o Promote school events, achievements, and initiatives through online channels.
o Monitor and manage online engagement, responding to inquiries and maintaining a positive online presence for the school.
o Work with the marketing team to ensure the school’s branding and messaging are consistent across all digital platforms.
4. Collaboration and Communication:
o Serve as a liaison between faculty, administration, and the IT department to ensure technology needs are met.
o Regularly update staff and administrators on new technology trends, software updates, and any relevant IT developments.
o Participate in school meetings, planning sessions, and professional development opportunities related to technology integration.
o Assist in technology-related troubleshooting for administrative staff, teachers, and students.
5. Support and Training:
o Provide ongoing professional development for teachers and staff in the use of technology tools and resources.
o Develop instructional materials, tutorials, and guides for technology use across the school.
o Offer one-on-one or small group training sessions as needed.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Educational Technology, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
· Proven experience in K-8 educational technology integration or teaching.
· Strong knowledge of IT systems, networks, hardware, and software management.
· Familiarity with social media platforms and web development.
· Ability to troubleshoot and solve technical issues in a timely manner.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Strong organizational and time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience in a K-8 educational environment.
· Certifications in IT or educational technology (e.g., CompTIA A+, Google Certified Educator).
· Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) for websites (e.g., WordPress).
· Experience with creating and managing social media campaigns for schools or organizations.
Working Conditions:
· Full-time position with occasional evening or weekend work as needed for school events or projects.
· On-site work required with the possibility of remote support during off-hours.
