We are seeking a dedicated Laundry Aide to join our compassionate healthcare team. This role provides vital support to our residents and staff, ensuring high-quality care and a positive living environment.
JOB FUNCTIONS
The Laundry Aide is responsible for the collection, cleaning, drying, folding, and distribution of residents' personal clothing while ensuring proper laundering procedures in compliance with infection control and safety guidelines. This role ensures that all laundry is properly sanitized, handled with care, and returned promptly to residents or facility areas. The Laundry Aide must follow established procedures for sorting, stain removal, machine operation, and proper fabric care, while maintaining cleanliness in the laundry room and storage areas.
This role includes inspecting clothing for wear or damage, pre-treating stains, and ensuring proper storage of cleaned items. The Laundry Aide maintains a clean and organized laundry area, monitors laundry supplies, and follows all OSHA and infection prevention protocols. Additionally, they collaborate with housekeeping, nursing, and support staff to meet residents’ laundry needs while providing dignified and respectful service.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operates clothes washers, and dryers, clothes carts, janitorial cleaning equipment, iron and ironing board, other related equipment
- Laundry daily duties:
- Receives all soiled laundry and separates by category
- Washes all items by using procedures and supplies appropriate for each category
- Dries clothing
- Folds clothing, separates by resident and category
- Places folded clothing in delivery carts
- Delivers clothing to proper location and stores correctly
- Sanitizes laundry equipment and laundry room daily, including removal of lint
- As needed, deliver hot meals to homebound seniors Monday through Friday to different addresses and through different routes in company vehicle. Complies with Department of Transportation regulations and safety standards.
- As needed, transport and accompany kupuna to doctor and lab appointments.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION
- High School or equivalent
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions in English
- Ability to lift, push, carry, pull up to 70 pounds
- Ability to stand, kneel, bend for extended periods
- Annual Physical and TB Clearance
- CPR/First Aid Certification
- Willingness to work weekends and/or holidays
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working in healthcare or senior care
- Knowledge of infection control protocols in a healthcare setting
