Job Description

Na Ali'i is looking for a Lead OSP/ISP Installer to be under general supervision, the Lead Outside Plant (OSP)/ Inside Plant (ISP) Installer shall assume responsibility for the planning, staffing, quality control, and installation of inside/outside cable facilities related to the deployment project.

  • Manage a diverse team of, Installation Technicians, Electricians, Contracts Administrators, CAD specialist, and General Administrative Staff.
  • Able to effectively communication with Government staff and other key stake holders
  • Participate and lead call order estimation process amongst team engineers and other associated subject matter experts
  • Oversee the development and completion of all requested call orders which include cost, work plans, engineering design and quality control plans.
  • Track and manage the ordering and delivery and distribution of all related materials including all associated cabling products and hardware/software devices 
  • Develop all necessary project plans, staffing and scheduling plans, material lists and all other necessary documents for each call order
  • Provide formal briefings and or training presentations to customer user group and staff members
  • Produce a weekly status report to the client on the accomplishments and status of all Call Order installations
  • Manage, approve, and track related travel schedules, expenses, and predefined budgets

  • Strong understanding of reading drawings and performing takeoffs to form a Bill of Materials (BOM)
  • Excellent understanding of voice and data cabling including fiber optics terminations and installations, CAT.5, CAT5e & CAT.6, and EIA/TIA standards and BICSI installation guidelines
  • Access Control, Audio Video, Fiber Optic Install, Video Surveillance, Voice/Data Cabling
  • Establish voice and data networks by installing, terminating, and splicing cables.
  • Installing telecommunications equipment, routers, and switches, establishing connections, and programming features following industry standards.
  • Verify service by testing circuits, equipment, and alarms, identifying, correcting, or escalating problems.
  • Documents network by labeling and routing equipment and cables.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment and ISP/OSP issues.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)


Military Installation Access: This position resides on a military installation.  Must be able to qualify for and obtain a base access pass (successful pass of background check). 


Clearance Requirements: Must be able to qualify for and obtain a Secret security clearance. Must be a U.S. citizen.


Education and Experience: This position requires a minimum of (5) Five years of experience within the field of telecommunications installation and a BICSI Certification is preferred. HS Diploma or GED & Technical Trade School, military service, or related experience is required, but a bachelor’s degree is preferred.   


Travel:  Work will be performed at various military base/post/camp/stations within the State of Hawaii (outer islands included).  Minimal local travel may be required in support of this position.

Ability to sit, stand, climb, kneel, bend, lift, crawl, squat, reach and utilize both hands and feet in an aerial and underground capacity. Environmental Conditions exposure is heat, cold, dust, wet, vibration and very loud noise. Requires the ability to sit for extended periods, stand, bend, walk, communicate via telephone, computer and/or face-to-face contact, vision to monitor, and use basic office equipment such as a personal computer, copier and fax machines regularly during the course of work. Work is performed in and out of an office environment.
