Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician will perform general maintenance and repairs for assigned equipment and facilities, including plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, heating and cooling, and other building systems. The ideal candidate will have experience and solid technical knowledge. They must possess manual dexterity and physical stamina. The Maintenance Worker will perform miscellaneous repairs such as minor plumbing problems such as unclogging drains, plunging toilets, and repairing leaky fixtures and faucets. Other duties may include tightening loose toilet seats, changing light bulbs, and patching holes in walls. They will perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment, including cleaning and lubrication. The Maintenance Technician must follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; and complete all required safety training and certifications deemed necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 Year of general maintenance or journeyman helper experience.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems.
• Experience using hand and electrical tools.
• Ability to read technical manuals and drawings.
• Create new standard operating procedures as needed.
• Very good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Physical stamina and dexterity.
• Ability to operate forklifts in a variety of weather and traffic conditions or willing to become certified.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Able to work individually and as a team.
• Punctual with excellent attendance.
• Excellent math skills with detailed knowledge of use of metric measurements
• Reliable with a keen eye for detail is required.
• Speaks and understands conversational English.
• Complies with quality assurance expectations and standards.
• Must have good mechanical aptitude and safe working habits.
• Hours based on overall business needs, must have open availability.
• Assist Corporate Mechanic and Maintenance Specialist with other daily tasks.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Speak and read Japanese.
• General/Industrial maintenance certifications preferred.
• Forklift certified preferred.
