KCAA Preschools of Hawai'i (https://kcaapreschools.org) is seeking an energetic, dedicated individual who enjoys working for a cause to join our team. The Maintenance Technician will perform preventive maintenance and respond to various repair work orders to the building and facilities at our three preschool campuses (Mother Rice in Moiliili, Kuapa in Hawaii Kai, Muriel in Kakaako).  The ideal candidate must be able to assess the issue, understand how to properly document, devise a solution to resolve the problem, and prioritize the appropriate next steps.

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Perform repair and maintenance work for the KCAA properties, including cleaning, painting, interior/exterior maintenance, debris removal, plumbing, electrical work, repair or replacement of lights, roof repairs, etc.*
• On-call emergency repairs and completes repairs as needed.
• Moves supplies and materials to proper location by wheelbarrows or hand trucks; stacks materials for storage or binning; collects refuse and salvageable materials.
• Completes and submits all required paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
• Keeps supervisor well-informed of activities, results of efforts, problems identified/potential problems, etc.; recommends corrective actions to supervisor.
• Works cooperatively and always conducts oneself in a professional manner when in contact with consumers, staff, subcontractors, monitors and the public. Deals with customers and others in a diplomatic and positive manner.
• Demonstrates good verbal, written and listening communication skills as measured by accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of work.
• Maintains a thorough working knowledge of and adheres to the corporate/project policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Always promotes and practices IIF (Incident and Injury Free) safety culture.

Work Schedule
Tuesday – Saturday 6:00am - 2:30pm

 

Payrate: $27 per hour

Other Requirements

• Passing the DHS background check
• A valid Driver’s License and clean drivers abstract

This position is based at the KCAA Mother Rice location in Moiliili, and a company van is provided for business use including driving between campuses and picking up repair and maintenance materials and supplies.
