Job Description for HFCA Maintenance Technician Assistant
Job Brief: Part-time position that supports the Lead Maintenance Technician who fixes and
maintains buildings, grounds, infrastructure, and equipment.
Tasks may include simple plumbing work, painting, flooring repair and upkeep, air conditioning
system maintenance, groundskeeping, and trash disposal.
Responsibilities
● Inspects and troubleshoots various equipment and systems; reports necessary repairs to
Administration, and performs preventative maintenance;
● Handles basic repairs and maintenance, such as repairing broken locks, damage to walls, etc.
● Completes regular maintenance tasks, such as replacing light bulbs;
● Assists when tests are necessary for functionality of facility safety systems;
● Maintains grounds, including trimming, edging, lawn mowing, collecting trash, etc.
● Performs necessary cleaning activities, such as mopping, collecting trash, etc.
● Performs other duties as required and needed.
Job Skills and Requirements
● Proven maintenance experience;
● High school diploma or GED;
● Related degree from technical college;
Skilled in the use of hand and power tools;
● Ability to read and utilize technical manuals and drawings;
● Ability to use common tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches;
● Experience performing routine maintenance;
● Ability to maintain focus while working individually;
● Valid driver’s license;
