Job Description
We're hiring a Manager of Annual Giving to manage Hawaiian Humane Society's annual giving program. Join us and support the Development department's fundraising goals and initiatives through annual giving campaigns that align with our goals and mission.
Essential Duties & Functions:
- Manage all aspects of the annual giving campaign including direct mail, donor management, mid-level prospect identification, and donor recognition.
- Manage and grow a robust mid-level donor strategy including stewarding current recurring donors and growing the newly launched Ho’omau Heroes recurring donor program; works closely with Director of Development to identify potential major giving donors.
- Develop direct mail and e-campaign concepts and content by collaborating with other departments to identify compelling stories; identify opportunities to increase annual giving including online revenue through email reminders and social media; monitor direct mail campaign performance and maintain budget. Prepare monthly reports on annual giving results and key performance metrics.
- Manage community fundraising initiatives, including the Pets in Paradise Calendar Contest, Love Drives Us Van Wrap Contest, Aloha United Way, Combined Federal Campaign, Foodland Give Aloha, and other third-party fundraising programs.
- Create online donation forms, manage donor data and segmentation, generate reports, and utilize fundraising platforms including Blackbaud CRM and Mailchimp to support fundraising and stewardship efforts.
- Manage the organization’s Dog Park fundraising initiative, developing strategies to increase participation and convert visitors into long-term donors.
- Manage the quarterly donor newsletter, Our Pawsitive Impact by creating content for high-level donors.
Skills/Knowledge:
- Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills and computer knowledge.
- Strong organizational, administrative, telephone, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with accuracy.
- Must effectively build and manage relationships.
- Detail oriented and “big picture” ideology, and self-driven with strong follow-through skills.
- Must have superior working knowledge and abilities with Raiser’s Edge software.
- Knowledge of Canva, MailChimp and other systems preferred.
- Must agree with and be committed to the Hawaiian Humane Society’s goals, objectives and programs.

- PC compatible computer; laser printers; fax and copy machines, scanner, telephone.
Education/Training:
Experience:
- Minimum 2-3 years development and fundraising experience, including annual giving campaigns.
- Demonstrated strong organizational, administrative, telephone and interpersonal communication skills.
- Detailed and “big picture” ideology, self-driven with strong follow-through skills.
Working Conditions:
- Indoors in an air-conditioned office; outdoors for special events. Office is on second floor; daily climbing up and down stairs.
Work Hours:
- Regular work hours are 40 hours per week, typically a Monday-Friday schedule. Support at special events after hours and on weekends as scheduled.

- Must maintain and present personal conduct, personal appearance, and office space as a professional. Includes well-groomed and professional appearance and tidy office areas.
- Must have a flexible disposition and exercise compassion, patience, professionalism, flexibility and tact when dealing with a broad range of volunteers and the public.

- Requires ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Occasionally requires moving and lifting boxes up to 30 pounds.
- Valid driver's license, good driving record, access to own automobile and proof of no fault insurance required.
