The Senior Full-Stack Engineer is responsible for managing and executing the design, development, enhancement, and maintenance of the organization’s web-based applications, systems integrations, and data tools. This role provides technical leadership in architecture decisions, ensures high standards of code quality and security, and supports scalable, reliable solutions that advance organizational operations and service delivery. The Senior Full-Stack Engineer collaborates cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions and serves as a mentor to other technical staff and contractors.Applicants must currently reside in Oahu, Hawaii to be considered for this role.

This role is based on-site at our Oahu Office.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain full-stack web applications, including front-end interfaces, back-end services, APIs, and database components.
  • Lead technical architecture decisions, including system design, data flow, integrations, and scalability planning.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following established standards and best practices.
  • Resolve complex technical issues across the application stack including troubleshooting and debugging.
  • Manage and optimize databases, queries, and data models to ensure performance, reliability, and security.
  • Implement and maintain integrations with third-party systems, platforms, and services.
  • Spearhead code reviews and enforce development standards, security practices, and version control processes.
  • Collaborate with product, operations, and other internal teams to gather requirements and deliver technical solutions aligned with organizational goals.
  • Contribute to DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines, environment configuration, and cloud infrastructure support.
  • Monitor and evaluate system performance and reliability; recommend and implement improvements.
  • Document system architecture, processes, and technical workflows.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers, junior staff, or contractors.

Qualifications

Experience

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in software development, including full-stack application development
  • Proven experience owning systems end-to-end, from design and architecture through deployment and support.
  • Experience leading or significantly contributing to architecture and system design decisions

Skills/Knowledge/Programs/Apps

  • Strong proficiency in modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Vue, Angular or similar)
  • Strong back-end development experience (e.g., Node.js, Python, Ruby, PHP, Java, or similar)
  • Experience designing and working with RESTful APIs and system integrations
  • Database experience (SQL and/or NoSQL) including schema design and performance optimization
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern deployment practices
  • Experience with version control (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows
  • Understanding of application security principles and data protection practices
  • Ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
