Hawaiian Humane Society |Honolulu|Full Time, $21.00 / hour
Job Description
Come join our ohana at Hawaiian Humane Society, where every day you'll help connect animals with their forever families while making a real difference in our community. We're looking for an enthusiastic Off-site Adoptions Coordinator who's ready to roll up their sleeves and lead our off-site adoption program with heart and hustle.

Responsibilities:
  • Be the face of compassion and support for potential adopters, helping them find their perfect match while sharing the Hawaiian Humane mission. You'll bring that same energy to our off-site partners, team members, volunteers, and community members, always following up promptly and managing your time well.
  • Lead the charge on our off-site adoption program by coordinating animal placements at partner locations and community events. You'll handpick the best candidates for off-site adoptions, manage all transfers and events, and respond quickly to partner needs.
  • Track performance metrics and find creative solutions to maximize our impact across both campuses.
  • Build and nurture an amazing team of off-site adoption volunteers alongside our Volunteer Services department. You'll develop volunteers to support both off-site locations and on-campus needs, making sure everyone feels supported and has clear communication channels.
  • Keep everyone in the loop with regular check-ins with volunteers and partners, whether in person or by email. You'll proactively escalate any issues to leadership when needed.
  • Serve as an adoption ambassador by learning about each animal's unique personality and needs so you can have meaningful conversations with potential adopters. Work with the team to ensure adopters understand any behavioral or medical considerations and feel confident taking their new pet home.
  • Transport animals safely to off-site locations while following proper handling and health protocols. Collaborate across departments to address specific animal needs, provide enrichment for animals in off-site habitats, and administer vaccines or preventatives when necessary. Train volunteers to help with animal movement, enrichment, and care.
  • Keep off-site adoption spaces clean, organized, and welcoming. Manage inventory and supplies, and coordinate with volunteers for deliveries, cleaning, and animal care tasks.
  • Support on-site adoptions by cross-training in all adoption duties, special events, and animal care. Help manage the on-site team and ensure both programs work seamlessly together to serve adopters.

Requirements:
  • At least two years of customer service experience required. Animal handling and leadership experience is a plus.
  • Must have passion and concern for both animals and people.
  • Must be committed to Hawaiian Humane mission, goals, objectives, and programs.
  • Requires handling people and animals in a pleasant, courteous, and professional manner.
  • Requires patience, professionalism, and empathy when working in highly emotional situations.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently and as a team equally successfully with proven communication, collaboration and customer service.
  • Must be able to perform physically rigorous work, stand for entire shift, and be able to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must have no limitations to prevent handling or working with animals.
  • Excellent customer service skills with strong verbal, written, and computer abilities. You should be comfortable handling cash transactions, computer systems, and paperwork with accuracy.
  • Willing and able to drive company vehicles, including animal transport trucks.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record that meets our organizational standards. You'll need to pass a driving background check.

Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
