Regular, Full-Time, RCUH Non-Civil Service position with the Telecommunication and Social Informatics (TASI), Pili Ola: Hawaii Rural Health Transformation Telehealth Program, located on Oahu. Continuation of employment is dependent upon program/operational needs, satisfactory work performance, availability of funds, and compliance with applicable Federal/State laws.

 

MONTHLY SALARY RANGE: $3,500 - $4,333.33/Mon.

 

DUTIES:Facilitates and trains community members to find, schedule, and do telehealth visits. Provides direct support to community members with use of desktops, laptops, and smartphones to connect to the internet. Provides training and educate community members to increase their digital literacy to find on-line health information. Provides outreach to the community to promote the use of telehealth. Meets regularly with telehealth navigators across the state and the supervisors. Collects evaluation data and feedback from community members and staff to meet and improve project activities and deliverables.

PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION

High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.

EXPERIENCE

Up to one (0-1) year of experience in providing training or education.

KNOWLEDGE

Must have working knowledge of technology (computers, smartphones, internet) and an interest in working in the healthcare field. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Team, Zoom, Adobe Acrobat, and email.

ABILITIES & SKILLS

Must have excellent communication skills and possess the ability to work with technology and different telehealth platforms. Must be flexible and patient to troubleshoot technology issues. Must have the ability to build relationships with a broad range of people, organization members, health care providers, and telehealth access point staff. Must have good public speaking skills. Must be able to read and understand detailed instructions and have excellent organizational skills. Must be culturally competent and able to multitask. Post Offer/Employment Condition: Must be able to pass a post offer criminal background check. Must be able to complete the UH Information Security Awareness Training (ISAT) within two (2) weeks from date of hire, and re-certify every twelve (12) months.

PHYSICAL/MEDICAL DEMANDS

Frequent sitting, standing, walking, grasping, carrying, and speaking. Occasional reaching, bending, and stooping. Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to twenty-five (25) pounds, with assistance if needed. Frequent use of computer, keyboard, and phone.

POLICY/REGULATORY REQUIREMENT

As a condition of employment, employee will be subject to all applicable RCUH policies, procedures, and trainings and, as applicable, subject to the University of Hawaii's HIPAA/PHI privacy and security policy and the Department of Health HIPAA/PHI privacy and security policy. Violation of the RCUH's, the UH's, or the business entity's policies and/or procedures or applicable State or Federal laws and/or regulations may lead to disciplinary action (including, but not limited to possible termination of employment, personal fines, civil and/or criminal penalties, etc.). Must complete the University of Hawaii's HIPAA/PHI privacy and security training and the Department of Health HIPAA/PHI privacy and security training immediately after hire or not later than employees initial exposure to HIPAA/PHI. Must maintain a current status on the Universitys and/or the business entity's training requirements.

SECONDARY QUALIFICATIONS:

The ability to plan and successfully implement outreach activities beyond the main telehealth navigation duties is desirable.
