PREP Hawaii Library Health Access Librarian

$5,178 - $6,057 monthly, salary commensurate w/ training and experience


Exempt, non-civil service, temporary, full-time appointment.  The Library Health Access Project (LHAP) is a federally funded two-to-three-year partnership with the Hawaii Department of Health and Hawaii State Public Library System to pilot activities to support health and digital navigators, COVID-19 and health information and services, and access to telehealth in 15 libraries in underserved and rural areas statewide.


This position is responsible to work with state agency and community partners to plan, coordinate, manage, market, and evaluate all the components of this project across 15 libraries statewide.  The position will also be responsible for overseeing program coordinators on each island, reporting to partners, and making recommendations for improvements.



Minimum Qualification(s)


EDUCATION:  Graduation from an accredited four (4) year college or university with a bachelor’s degree.  Master’s degree in Library Sciences from an accredited college or university.


EXPERIENCE:  Two (2) years of progressively responsible professional library experience.  Ability to perform administrative duties and to provide leadership and supervision to other staff.  At least one (1) year of experience as a Librarian V or two years as a Librarian IV.  Work experience should include an understanding of health and digital resources and an ability to communicate the value and use of them.


LICENSE:  Possess a valid State of Hawaii Driver’s license.
