- Offer guidance and resources to help keep pets in their homes and out of shelters
- Conduct intake interviews and assessments for animals entering our care
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all interactions and animal information
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure the best outcomes for pets and their families
- Develop and maintain relationships with local veterinarians, trainers, and other pet service providers
- Assist in organizing and implementing community outreach programs and events
- Stay up-to-date on current animal welfare issues and best practices

Requirements:

- Proven experience in customer service or a related field
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress situations
- Proficiency in computer skills, including database management
- Flexibility to work weekends and occasional evenings as needed
- Knowledge of animal behavior and common pet care issues
- Ability to lift and handle animals of various sizes (up to 50 lbs)
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
