Planner V

$4,764 - $5,572 per month, commensurate w/ training, experience, and availability of funds



The primary purpose of the position is to coordinate the development of statewide comprehensive public health response plans to all hazards, including man-made disasters or events. The position leads the planning, development, and implementation of multiple, complex special projects, policies, and procedures to build, improve, and maintain state public health and healthcare system preparedness capabilities.




Minimum Qualifications


To qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements:

EDUCATION:  A bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university.


EXPERIENCE:  Three and one-half years of progressively responsible professional planning experience which included the collection and evaluation of an extensive variety of physical, social, economic and environmental data, determination of public opinion and general community objectives and policies to obtain a comprehensive prospective of conditions and identify problems and opportunities in the area(s) of concern.


SUPERVISORY APTITUDE:  Supervisory aptitude rather than actual supervisory experience may be accepted.  This requirement will be considered to have been met when there is strong affirmative evidence of the necessary supervisory abilities and/or potential.


LICENSE:  A valid driver’s license is required for some positions.  For these positions, a valid driver’s license is required at the time of appointment.
