St. Anthony School, Kailua
Position: Principal, Pre-K through 8th Grade
Supervisor: Pastor
Term: 1 Year Contract
Status: Full-time, salaried, exempt
Salary: Competitive and commensurate with experience
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Education or higher from an accredited university
- Minimum of three years of experience in educational leadership
- Minimum of five years of teaching experience in elementary and/or middle school
- Proven skills with technology integration and innovation in an academic setting
- Believing and living the faith and morals of the Roman Catholic Church
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in educational leadership in a Catholic school
- Knowledge of best practices in curriculum and assessment, differentiated learning, and other issues at the forefront of education
Responsibilities:
- Organization, administration, and supervision of the instructional program for Kindergarten through 8th Grade.
- Oversees Morning Care, After School Enrichment programs, and Summer School.
- Organization, administration, and supervision of the Early Learning Center (Pre-Kindergarten) and After School Care, including compliance with all licensing requirements of the Hawaii Department of Human Services.
- Employs processes for gathering, analyzing, and using data to enhance student achievement.
- Develops and implements the general school schedule, policies and procedures, and all activities related to the school.
- Oversees the recruitment, selection, professional development, and supervision of school teachers and non-instructional staff.
- Encourages and initiates continued improvement in education programs and pedagogy.
- Develop and effectively administer the school budget as approved by the Pastor, School Board, and Finance Council.
- Orders all textbooks, materials, and resources needed for instruction, safety, and administration.
- Maintain a positive school environment that promotes student learning.
- Maintain a standard of student behavior consistent with Catholic faith and morals and demonstrating respect for the dignity of all people.
- Identifies intellectual, physical, social, and emotional needs of students and takes proactive steps to direct and coordinate the appropriate interventions of teachers and parents.
- Maintains effective communication to keep parents, students, faculty, and staff properly informed.
- Ensures school records are up-to-date and properly maintained.
- Attends and makes presentations to the School Board and Finance Council, PTSG, and represents the school at the Pastoral Council and Weekly Staff Meetings with the Pastor.
- Plans and conducts faculty meetings.

- Leadership skills and experience in working with teachers and administrators, knowledge of current best practices in education and learning, supervision, and team development.
- Ability to work with and encourage others to excel in their work and achieve results. Demonstrates respect toward the ideas of others.
- Ability to maintain composure, tact, sensitivity and flexibility during peak periods and crisis intervention situations.
- Strong management and organization skills – ability to multitask and prioritize in an efficient manner, meet deadlines, and focus to complete projects.
- Effective oral and written communication skills to communicate clearly with all school stakeholders.
- Effective skills in conflict resolution and working toward win-win solutions.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evening and weekend events and occasional travel to the mainland as required; includes on-call 24/7 availability.
