POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Production Assistant supports the daily operations of Lanakila Pacific’s Custom Products department by performing production, printing, and embroidery-related tasks. This role assists with silk-screening, embroidery preparation, packing and organizing products, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a clean and efficient work environment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience: Minimum of six (6) months of recent, relevant work experience
  • Clearances/Certifications (must maintain):
    • TB clearance
    • Criminal background check
    • Pre-employment drug and alcohol test
    • Child Protective Services check
    • Adult Protective Services check

Preferred

  • Prior experience in production, manufacturing, warehouse, printing, or embroidery environments

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Production & Equipment Operations

  • Assist with daily production operations, including silk-screening and embroidery support
  • Operate and support the use of silk-screening machines, embroidery equipment, and heat presses
  • Prepare materials by cutting backing, trimming loose threads, and organizing products
  • Count, sort, pack, and unpack items according to size and production requirements
  • Assist with inventory tracking and periodic supply counts

Workplace Organization & Safety

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Clean and maintain machinery, tools, equipment, and supplies daily
  • Follow all safety procedures, using required protective equipment such as gloves when appropriate

Customer & Team Support

  • Answer phone calls and take messages as assigned
  • Assist customers with product pickup and box handling
  • Greet customers, volunteers, and visitors with professionalism and courtesy
  • Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members to meet department goals

Administration & Other Duties

  • Follow established work rules, standards of conduct, and organizational policies
  • Complete all required trainings in accordance with organizational requirements
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

WORKING CONDITIONS & HOURS:

  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, typically between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
  • May require work outside normal business hours, including weekends and holidays (e.g., Thanksgiving and Christmas), based on operational needs
  • Work is primarily indoors in a production or office setting; occasional outdoor work and travel to other program or meeting sites may be required

EQUIPMENT USE:

  • Silk-screen printing press
  • Embroidery hooping equipment
  • Heat press, flashes, and power washer
  • Standard production and cleaning tools

MENTAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to perform basic math, counting, and measuring
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to handle difficult individuals or situations professionally
  • Ability to plan, organize, and adapt to changing priorities
  • Ability to repeat instructions calmly and meet established deadlines
  • Demonstrate initiative, sound judgment, and ability to multitask with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse population

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Frequent: Standing, walking, sitting, lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs, handling/pushing/pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, squatting, color vision, hearing, talking, feeling (size, shape, temperature, texture), and travel.

Occasional: Lifting and carrying 26–50 lbs, climbing stairs or ladders, balancing, and night/low-light work with proper lighting.

Rare: Lifting and carrying over 50 lbs.
