Professional Relations Administrator

 

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the Manager of Professional Relations, provides high-level administrative support to Professional Relations department and providers. Responsible for maintaining provider networks, provider education and outreach as well as ensuring provider network compliance. Analyzes effectiveness of work processes and proposes recommendations for enhancements. Manages multiple tasks and projects effectively using prioritization and time management skills to meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy. Builds professional relationships between HDS, DDPA and the dentists/the dental offices. Responsible for planning, supporting and implementing various projects and technology tools and provides training, troubleshooting and support for the department and to the dental offices. Addresses and resolves provider questions, problems, and issues in a timely manner. Responsibilities apply to both commercial and government programs.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·       Maintains provider networks, provider education, outreach and ensures compliance. Serves as a liaison with the providers and their offices, to address and resolve provider issues in a timely manner.

·       Responsible for HDS technology tools utilized in the Professional Relations department.  Maintains and leads system enhancements, testing, training and ongoing operational support. Analyzes effectiveness of work processes and proposes recommendations for enhancements. Leads projects that will improve work processes.

·       Identify, define and build professional relations with various stakeholders such as dentists, dental associations and other Delta Dental companies, with effective communication.  Building relationships with these stakeholders helps to ensure HDS programs and projects are well received and supported within the community.

·       Develops, maintains and implements policies, processes and procedures within the Professional Relations department.

·       Develops, manages and coordinates all communication material for the Professional Relations department.

 

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·       Serves as a backup for the Professional Relations Manager.

·       Supports HDS participation in community health fairs by recruiting dentists to provide oral screenings and working with dentists at the fair.

·       Other miscellaneous duties and responsibilities as assigned.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Education

Bachelor’s degree required. Business administration or public health administration preferred.

 

Experience

·         Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in office management or administrative functions. Strong metric-driven, technical focus is preferred

·         Experience in health care or insurance preferred

Skills and Knowledge:

·           Demonstrated ability to identify, research, and resolve issues by making sound decisions in accordance with policies and procedures

·           Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

·           Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·           Ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders in an effective and positive manner

·           Demonstrated competency in computer skills, such Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and data base

·           Demonstrated ability to prioritize and function effectively with multiple tasks/assignments.

·           Valid Hawaii driver's license and personal transportation vehicle needed.
