RESTP REPORT WRITING SPECIALIST – ID# 19053

 

Department of Psychology.  Regular, Full-Time, RCUH Non-Civil Service position with the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa, Department of Psychology, State of Hawai‘i Department of Health, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Division (CAMHD), Research, Evaluation, and Services Training Program (RESTP) located in Honolulu, Hawai‘i.  The position will be located at CAMHD.  Continuation of employment is dependent upon program/operational needs, satisfactory work performance, availability of funds, and compliance with applicable Federal/State laws. 

 

MINIMUM MONTHLY SALARY:  $3,260/Mon. 

 

DUTIES:  Develops reports and dashboards that summarize mental health services at the client and administrative levels for CAMHD’s case management system, associated databases, and other products. Incorporates user feedback and research findings to continually revise and improve data entry forms in the system and to develop new forms as needed. Responsible for designing and maintaining additional datamarts, structured query language (SQL), Microsoft Access and/or other database processes that restructure data for research and evaluation. Responsible for developing and maintaining data dictionaries and detailed documentation of data processes, including specifications for forms, data definitions, data mapping, database queries, and reports. Elicits team and user feedback on end products, including new data report designs, standardized visual products, and report formats and implements required changes and updates. Participates in the development of program coding and ensures that computer programming meets design specifications. Works closely with the CAMHD Management Information System (MIS) team in successfully implementing the electronic health record (EHR) system, as well as under the guidance of the RESTP Research & Statistical Analyst.  Participates in RESTP meetings as vital component of advance-level team that includes the Director, doctoral-level team leaders, and graduate and undergraduate students, and contributes to RESTP products, reports, and publications. 

 

PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION/TRAINING:  Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university in Computer Science, Information Science, Business Administration, Accounting, Mathematics, Informatics, or related field.  EXPERIENCE:  At least two (2) years of progressively responsible professional experience, which demonstrates an ability to manage data systems and perform reporting systems analysis and systems development. At least two (2) years of experience in computer systems analysis and preparation of data for reports. At least one (1) year of experience working with software applications and databases.  ABIL/KNOW/SKILLS:  High-level knowledge of PCs, SQL, Microsoft Applications including Access, system security, and system management. Knowledge of database design and maintenance, data manipulation, and computer programming across software applications and systems.  Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to communicate technical information to lay audiences.  Ability to implement technical changes based on requirements. Possesses exceptional skills in database management/administration and information management. Excellent organization and management skills. Ability to efficiently produce accurate and effective reports and summaries using multiple data formats and computer platforms.  Ability to travel independently to distal sites for consultation.  Post Offer/Employment Condition:  Must be able to pass a post offer criminal background check. Must complete the University of Hawai‘i's Department of Psychology  HIPAA/PHI privacy and security training and the State of Hawai‘i, Department of Health, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Division (CAMHD) HIPAA/PHI privacy and security training immediately after hire or not later than employee’s initial exposure to HIPAA/PHI. Must maintain a current status on the University’s and/or the business entity's training requirements.
