Registered Nurse- Full Time (40 hours per week)
Hourly/Non-Exempt
A Registered Nurse is on duty at the Home, (covering either a day shift or evening shift, seven
(7) days per week), to supervise the nursing services activities in accordance with physician
orders, facility policy, and Department of Health regulations. In the absence of the Director
of Nursing (DON) the Registered Nurse is responsible for the supervision of all nursing
services activities including the supervision of direct care staff to provide a safe and pleasant
environment for the residents.
Duties and Responsibilities:• Conduct daily resident visits to observe and evaluate resident’s physical, mental and
emotional status recording findings in resident’s charts.
• Complete monthly logs for residents including vitals/weights, nursing summaries, POS/MAR/TAR.
• Ensure current yearly updates/changes in the following areas: Level Of Care (LOC), Self
Preservation, PE, PPD, Dietary, Physician Orders (quarterly), Fall Risk Assessment (quarterly).
• Observe nursing staff and work practices to ensure that protective devices and safe work
procedures are used.
• Manage staff as they assist residents in their ADL’s, daily exercise, hygiene, grooming and nutritional
programs.
• Ensure appropriate podiatry care (every 3 months).
• Ensure residents are dressed appropriately and manicured.
• Continually assess and evaluate each resident’s health status, appropriate level of care and record all
changes in the medical chart and communicating with the resident’s physician and family.
• Supervise CNAs in their performance of vital signs, blood pressures, and yearly skills review.
• Perform other duties as requested by the Director of Nursing.
• Inform the Director of Nursing daily of all incidents related to the residents and nursing staff. Complete
incident reports as they happen.
Minimum Qualifications: • Current, valid Registered Nurse license, State of Hawaii
• Current TB/First Aid/CPR/BLS certificates
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited college
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Three (3) years related experience and/or training in geriatric or long-term care
• Able to develop and maintain organization of records and information; able to manage
inventory levels and purchase food and supplies.
• Demonstrated ability to work positively, collaboratively and professionally within a team
and across an organization.

Required Documentation:
- Annual physician exam
- TB clearance (2-step)
- Pre-employment drug testing (required upon hire)
- Criminal background and APS clearance (required upon hire)
- Certification in In-Person Adult BLS CPR/AED
- Certification in In-Person Adult First Aid
