ResearchStatistician III-IV

Level III:  $4,252 - $5,178 per month (SR-20, Step C to H)
Level IV:  $4,600to$5,600permonth(SR-22,StepCtoH)



Note:  Hiring rates will be based on availability of funds, the applicant’s qualifications, and other relevant factors.

 

Temporary, Full-Time civil service appointment. The Research Statistician IV is responsible for the timely assessment, collection, and dissemination of scientific and evidence-based data of the Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program (BCCCP) and Hawaii Comprehensive Cancer Control Program (HCCCP). These programs support the implementation of innovative strategies and programmatic activities to reduce the burden of cancer in the state. This position provides technical expertise in the areas of 1) planning and designing surveys; 2) analyzing data, including other state and national data; 3) developing and interpreting data; 4) planning and implementing program evaluation strategies; and 5) conducting program component evaluations.

 

 Minimum Qualification

 

EDUCATIOIN:  A bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university, which include three (3) semester credit hours in statistics is required at both levels.

 

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:  One and one-half (1 ½) years for Level III and two and one half (2½) years for Level IV of professional work experience conducting research and/or statistical studies which involved planning and designing surveys, modifying, and applying research and statistical methods and techniques to the collection and analysis of data; and preparing summaries or reports with data presented in graphic, narrative, or numerical form.

 

ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTIONS: Successful completion of one (1) year of graduate study (30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours) at an accredited college or university which included at least one (1) graduate course in research methods and techniques or in advanced statistics, may be substituted for one (1) year of the Specialized Experience; or

 

Successful completion of all requirements for the Ph.D. degree in statistics, including the dissertation, may be substituted for two and one-half (2½) years of the Specialized Experience.
