POSITION SUMMARY

Under general supervision, this position provides a welcoming and safe environment for residents including routine, emergency, and safety control monitoring, and resident services functions and activities; serves as a central point of contact for residents, guest, and service providers; and provides exception customer service assisting with operation controls for the building.

ESSENTIAL AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Perform duties supporting the general safety of the building; operate a variety of electronic equipment including the radio/telephone consoles, paging stations, video camera equipment, various computer equipment and safety systems.
  • Provide first point of contact to residents for an exceptional resident services experience by providing assistance and general information and interpreting and explaining requirements, policies, procedures on routine matters in accordance with established guidelines; or by referring more complex concerns to Supervisor or General Manger as appropriate.
  • Operate a variety of building systems and operations equipment including the buildings entry and access system and equipment, access control systems and the closed-circuit television system; insure secure access and use of all building systems and restriction is maintained.
  • Maintain parking and driveway access; appropriately follow procedures for parking; assist residents, guests and vendors.  
  • Receive, respond, and process requests for accommodations with elevator reservations, deliveries, move in/out, guests, lock outs, cabs, special resident request; refer more complex item to Supervisor of General Manger.
  • Conduct routine inspections of all building common elements and egress and access points surrounding areas; ensure building rules and regulations are in compliance and safety protocols are maintained with applicable rules and regulations; immediate report any concerns.  
  • Compose, maintain and review a variety of reports, records and logs including, but not limited to incident/accident reports and condition reports; provide staff support as needed.
  • Respond to emergencies; initiate emergency operations and response; operate emergency equipment; coordinate emergency services and communications.
  • Assist other staff with general maintenance of lobby, common areas, elevators as needed.  
  • Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.

Additional responsibilities for positions holding a Guard Card include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Perform duties supporting the general security and safety of the building. 
  • Conduct routine inspections of all building common elements and egress and access points surrounding areas. 

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING


Experience:

  • Two (2) years of increasingly responsible direct guest services or security work experience is preferred.

Training:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent education.
  • Specialized clerical courses and computer software training in Microsoft Office including, but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and/or PowerPoint are preferred.

License or Certificates:

  • Possession of, or the ability to obtain, a valid CPR Certificate.
  • Possession of, and ability to maintain, a valid Hawaii Guard Card is preferred.
  • 1350 Ala Moana may provide training for CRP and Guard Card certifications for successful candidates during the probationary employment period for select candidates.
