Position Overview: 

The Restaurant Manager plays a pivotal role in setting and instilling the culture of the Front of House (FOH) team while ensuring excellence and care in our service. Working closely with both FOH and BOH teams, the Restaurant Manager leads and supports as needed to ensure smooth and successful service throughout the restaurant. The Restaurant Manager supports wide ranging functions in varying capacities to ensure smooth and efficient restaurant operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include but are not limited to the following: 

Supervision and Management

  • Drives a cooperative, empowering, and effective team culture for team members 
  • Supports with recruitment, hiring, and training of team members 
  • Performs supervisory duties for all FOH staff, including but not limited to training, coaching & counseling, performance evaluation, etc. 
  • Preps and equips FOH team for all dining services needs (i.e. setup, special instructions, etc.)
  • Maintains an understanding of all FOH roles and responsibilities in order to help uphold standards and assist as needed; filling in when necessary 
  • Drives and enforces all restaurants standards and protocols
  • Leads staff meetings, briefings, and prep as needed
  • Plans and manages daily operations for FOH functions

Restaurant Operations and Services 

  • Acts as floor lead in handling and settling guest requests, questions, and concerns 
  • Drives and instills a friendly and comfortable atmosphere for guests
  • Supports wherever needed during service to drive smooth operations
  • Assists with opening and closing the restaurant facilities in accordance with relevant procedures 
  • Supports all events as needed from start to finish, ensuring a positive overall restaurant experience 
  • Maintains an in-depth knowledge of the menu, wine list, and beverages.
  • Operates and manages POS system for food and beverage orders and other functions
  • Upholds the cleanliness and appearance of the restaurant
  • Monitors sales and revenue data to evaluate and drive business goals 
  • Manages Tip pooling policies and procedures 
  • Provides operational reports as needed 
  • Other duties as needed

 Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • 3+ years of experience working in the restaurant industry, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience 
  • Relevant higher education degree in travel, hospitality or related field preferred but not required 
  • Experience in POS and cash-handling systems

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Excellent Teamwork and Communication skills
  • Must bring an empathetic and coaching oriented leadership style
  • Working knowledge of Reservations system and Microsoft Office including but not limited to Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, Access.
  • Servsafe certification preferred but not required
  • TB Clearance is required to work in the restaurant
  • Manager Liquor Card License (required if hired)
