Regular, Full-Time, RCUH Non-Civil Service position with the Software Development Center (SDC), located at University of Hawai‘i Maui College in Kahului, Hawai‘i. Telework (from employee’s residence city and state) may be permissible subject to review and approval by Principal Investigator and RCUH.  Continuation of employment is dependent upon program/operational needs, satisfactory work performance, availability of funds, and compliance with applicable Federal/State laws.


MONTHLY SALARY:  Salary commensurate with qualifications. 


DUTIES:  Directs the implementation of work plans related to the development of enterprise level software solutions on behalf of sponsored Software Development Center (SDC) projects. Facilitates collaboration and coordinates work plans among SDC team, project sponsors, University of Hawai‘i (UH) partners, and other community partners. Coordinates stakeholder meetings. Maintains project files and records and oversees the development and improvement of business processes. Maintains documentation including but not limited to Functional Requirements, business workflow, and technical and training documents. Provides written progress reports as required, contributes to the development of technical and business documentation. Works in-person with subject matter experts to determine current business processes and needs and report to SDC team and project workgroup. Develops timelines and milestones related to planning and implementation of software solution development. Collaborates with SDC team in conveying technical and business findings. Requires travel to client offices as needed. Assists with authoring and facilitating orientations, training workshops, and other presentations. Delivers and conducts orientation and training independently or in a team, as needed. May be required to travel interisland to meet with stakeholders as required. 




Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university. (Two (2) years of college course work from an accredited college or university in Business, Computer Science, Social Science, or related field and four (4) years related experience may substitute for a Bachelor’s Degree.).


Three to five (3-5) years in a professional or community setting working on medium to large projects. Experience must include at least one (1) year in a project coordinator or similar role.


Knowledge of project coordination and project management practices. Knowledge of computer-based tools for tracking progress and work.


Demonstrated ability to independently and effectively apply problem solving strategies. Demonstrated ability to communicate well both orally and in writing. Demonstrated ability to write effectively for diverse audiences. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with and build collaborative relationships with a range of people of diverse professional backgrounds and levels. Demonstrated ability in using word processing, spreadsheets, and database software. Demonstrated ability in internet search techniques and protocols, and in database creation and use. Ability to effectively conduct work remotely (e.g., telework) as applicable.


Able to lift and carry thirty (30) pounds.

Familiar with UH and the Research Corporation of the University of Hawai‘i (RCUH) policies and procedures. Experience with technical projects. Experience and familiarity working with collaborative team tools such as Microsoft Teams, Slack, Notion, and other computer-based team tools. Demonstrated ability in using Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
