At Hawaii Foodservice Alliance (HFA), we're Hawaiʻi's largest local supplier of perishable foods and logistics, serving communities across the islands every day.
We're looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Safety & Compliance Coordinator to support company-wide safety, compliance, and food safety initiatives. This role partners with multiple departments to help maintain regulatory compliance, promote safe workplace practices, strengthen food safety programs, and support continuous improvement throughout our operations.
While experience in food safety or compliance is a plus, it is not required. We're willing to train the right candidate who is eager to learn, enjoys problem-solving, and wants to build a long-term career.
What You'll Do
- Support company safety, compliance, and food safety programs across HFA operations
- Conduct facility inspections, audits, and routine compliance reviews
- Assist with food safety investigations, customer concerns, and corrective actions
- Help identify operational risks and recommend improvements to strengthen safety and compliance
- Coordinate and support employee training on food safety, workplace safety, and company procedures
- Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and regulatory records
- Assist with internal and external audits, including food safety and compliance requirements
- Partner with department leaders to promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Support special projects related to food safety, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence
What We're Looking For
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable working with employees across multiple departments
- Experience in operations, warehouse, manufacturing, logistics, food service, quality assurance, compliance, safety, or a related field is preferred but not required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Willingness to learn food safety regulations, compliance standards, and company policies
- Knowledge of HACCP, FSMA, FDA Food Code, or other food safety programs is a plus, but training will be provided
- Ability to travel to neighbor islands as needed
- Flexible schedule, including occasional weekends when business needs require
