Primary Purpose:
- Supervise and manage the school library/media center.
- Provide services and resources that allow students to develop skills in locating, evaluating, synthesizing, and using information to solve problems.
- Serve as resource teacher, materials expert, and curriculum adviser to ensure that the library/media center is involved in instructional programs of the school.
- Maintaining and organizing the library’s media resources including student and teacher devices
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- Degree from accredited college or university preferred
- 2 years relevant work experience as Librarian of Assistant Librarian in public/private school library if still working on a degree.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Knowledge of library science
- Ability to instruct and manage student behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, media, and interpersonal skills
- Strong technology skills
Experience:
- Two or more years of experience in a library/media center in a school setting preferred
