Job Description

SUMMARY

Responsible for maintaining security and order by patrolling the premises of St. Theresa to detect suspicious activity, ensuring that Hale Kau Kau rules are strictly followed and ensuring the safety of staff, volunteers and Hale Kau Kau guests before, during and after the feeding program everyday

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Protect property and lives by patrolling the premises of St. Theresa Church, Kihei

before, during and after the feeding program

· Maintain security and order in the premises especially in the eating areas.

· Circulate among Hale Kau Kau guests to preserve order and protect property.

· Warn persons of rule infractions or violations.

· Report rule infractions and violations and write incident report.

· Recommend suspension by filling-out trespass form.

· Stop suspicious people and ask for identification

· Call police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons.

· Respond to alarms and calls of distress.

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

1) Public Safety and Security -- Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.

2) Customer and Personal Service -- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

3) English Language -- Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.

4) Law and Government -- Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules, and the democratic political process.

5) Security Guard Card --Must possess the required security guard card.
