POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Accountants reports to the Accounting Managers and works closely with the Company’s management team. The Senior Accountants are responsible for supporting a full range of services, including, but not limited to, overseeing staff and supporting the financial activities of the Company by performing the following duties for assigned clients.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Commitment to excellent client service, flexibility, and the ability to manage constantly shifting priorities.
  • Responsible for day-to-day accounting needs for assigned clients and communicate with supervisor regularly on complex issues.
  • Serve as a primary liaison with client personnel; ensure client deadlines are being met and manage client expectations regarding deliverables.
  • Manage and assist staff with accounts payable and accounts receivables functions.
  • Perform monthly closing of client books and producing monthly financial reports and related bank and account reconciliations on a timely basis.
  • Responsible for monitoring expenses of assigned client companies through analyses and comparisons to budget and prior periods, performed in conjunction with timely preparation of financial statements.
  • Preparation and filing of client’s income and general excise tax returns, if required
  • Responsible for compiling/reviewing financial statements.
  • Provide information to client’s external tax accountants and auditors, if required
  • Assist in development and implementation of performance measures that support the company’s strategic direction.
  • Protects organization’s values by keeping information confidential.
  • Actively contribute to the overall positive culture of the company.
  • Other duties as assigned

SKILLS & ABILITIES

The ideal Senior Accountant is familiar with accounting and financial operations in a fast-paced, for-profit environment. This person will meet most or all of the following requirements:

Education: Undergrad​uate degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Business, Accounting or other related field.

Experience: A minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in public accounting and/or the private sector, including at least one year of supervisory experience, or any combination of education and experience which would provide the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to meet the minimum qualifications to perform the essential functions of this position.

Computer Skills Advanced knowledge of Adobe Acrobat and MS Office, including Word, Excel,

PowerPoint and Outlook. Prior knowledge of QuickBooks, Intacct or other accounting software is preferred.

Other Requirements Perform other duties as required. Availability to work additional hours or weekends, as projects demand.
