The Human Resources Manager responsibilities include both strategic and tactical HR operations, employee relations, recruitment, and HR compliance. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with management and HR Team to foster a positive workplace environment and support the organization's strategic objectives and growth. The ideal candidate will bring their applied knowledge of human resources to support the ongoing growth and development of our diverse team of over 500 team members.   

Applicants must currently reside on Oahu, Hawaii to be considered for this role. 

Starting Pay: $85,000/year. Relevant experience will be highly considered in actual wage.

The Opportunity: 

  • Collaborate with HFA Leadership to understand organization goals, challenges, and opportunities, providing HR insight and guidance to support strategic decision-making.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and team members, providing guidance and support on employee relations matters, performance management, and conflict resolution.
  • Proactively identify and address employee relations issues, conduct investigations ensuring thoroughness and confidentiality, and provide coaching and guidance to managers to resolve conflicts in a fair and equitable manner.
  • Discover opportunities to enhance organizational effectiveness, employee engagement, and team performance, partnering with leaders to implement solutions that drive positive outcomes.
  • Partner with Leaders on performance management processes including goal setting, performance evaluations, and career development opportunities for team members aligned with HFA’s culture of fostering professional development.
  • Support the Talent Acquisition Team to identify organization needs and participate in recruitment efforts including developing and evaluating effectiveness of sourcing strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures, advising leaders and managers on HR-related legal matters and best procedures.
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and development to other HR team members to support their professional growth while fostering collaboration and alignment in HR initiatives and practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field. 
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in HR management roles, with a strong understanding of HR best practices, including employee relations.
  • 5 years of experience in employee relations. 
  • Service-oriented and able to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, handle multiple projects, and be proactive going beyond the call of duty.  
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. 
  • Problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities. 
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Certification in Human Resources (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
