Student Helper II

$14.75 per hour, salary commensurate with training and experience

 

Exempt, non-civil service, part-time, temporary appointment. The primary purpose of this position is part of the Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity for Infectious Diseases (ELC) team that conducts surveillance activities for pathogens such as Salmonella, Shigella, Campylobacter, Escherichia coli O157:H7 infections, and other Shiga toxin-producing E. coli infections, and any other reportable disease under the direction of the epidemiologists.

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

EDUCATION:  Currently accepted or enrolled in a degree-seeking graduate program (MPH, MS, PhD, or other) in epidemiology, environmental health, or related health care or public health field.

 

EXPERIENCE:  Worked with Microsoft Windows operating systems.

This position is exempt from civil service. Employment in such positions is considered to be “at will.” This position can be up to a 24-month appointment, federally funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity (ELC) Cooperative Agreement for the budget period beginning August 1, 2023 – July 31, 2024.  Continuation of this position will be dependent on a successful application for subsequent grant periods.
