Oculofacial Plastic Surgery of Hawaii & Cataract and Vision Center of Hawaii

We are seeking a motivated Surgical Coordinator to join our team at Oculofacial Plastic Surgery of Hawaii & Cataract and Vision Center of Hawaii. This position will focus on providing outstanding medical care in both ohthalmic and oculoplastic procedures.

 

As a Surgical Coordinator, you will  counsel patients prior to surgery. This position is a critical role for our practice, and you will be the face of the practice for patients as they consider whether or not to book surgery. Your responsibilities will include preparing surgery quotes, going over pre/ post op instructions with patients, requesting preop clearance and authorizations for surgery, and more.  

 

We are looking for someone who is organized, pleasant, patient, professional, well spoken, self-motivated, a quick learner, and good at multi-tasking.  You will be the point of contact for many of our surgical patients and will join a team that is hard-working, fun, and passionate about our work.

 

Hours: Full time / Part time

Responsibilities:

·  Patient scheduling, registration, financial counseling, medical records, data entry and processing, billing and collection, and cash posting

·  Promotes excellent customer service by all levels of staff

·  Coordinate Surgical Scheduling (Meeting with patients to discuss pre/post operative instructions, faxing preop orders to PCP, scanning and uploading surgical packets, sending codes for auth request, calling patients with preop reminders, etc.)

·  Preparing surgical quotes and collecting payment

·  Cross-train in other positions as necessary

  

Qualifications and Experience:
·  College graduate preferred
·  Pre-med or Pre-PA is a plus
·  1 years of experience in surgical coordinating is a plus

·  Experience with Practice Management software and EMR (electronic medical records)

·  Excellent spoken and written English and typing skills

·  Previous experience in Oculoplastic Surgery, Ophthalmology, Plastic Surgery, or Dermatology is a plus

·  Any experience with social media and aesthetician services is a plus.

·  Foreign language abilities also a plus
