Job Purpose

The Shuttle Driver will play a critical role in providing safe and timely transportation for registered youth during the 9-week Fall 2021 program at Lili`uokalani Center. The shuttle driver is responsible for transporting youth to and from the program site, verifying that the vehicle is in appropriate condition. This position is also responsible for providing general support to program managers and teammates at events/activities as assigned.

 

Essential Responsibilities

 

  • Ensures the safe pick up and transportation of registered youth from designated pick up sites to program site and back.
  • Reviews and tracks attendance to and from program site.
  • Responsible for immediately contacting program leadership to report any discrepancies on roster, delays, and any other incidents occurring while transporting youth.
  • For the duration of the program, may be called upon to provide transportation for off-site activities, such as field trips or other scheduled events.
  • Supports Program Managers and teammates in creating a safe environment that facilitates learning and is encouraging and engaging for children and youth.
  • Models positive group management practices and actions to ensure program participant safety by developing healthy relationships and appropriate physical and emotional boundaries with children and youth.
  • Must be able to work: 12:00pm – 8:30pm Mondays – Thursdays
  • Abides by COVID-19 guidelines. Conducts COVID-19 screening for all youth prior to entering vehicle. Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of vehicle, pre and post trip, in accordance with COVID-19 guidelines, best practices, and recommendations.
  • Greet and engage youth with aloha.

Contributes to the team’s success by accepting new assignments, helping team members, learning new skills, and striving to improve results.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Must be at least 21 years of age with at least one (1) year of driving experience
  • Must be able to obtain all pre-employment requirements set by DOT and Lili`uokalani Trust
  • CPR and First Aid certifications (training will be provided)
  • Defensive driving certification (training will be provided)
  • Current TB clearance required
