Volunteer Coordinator
Honolulu, HI | Full Time | $65,000/ year

DVAC is seeking a passionate and organized Volunteer Coordinator to recruit, train, and support volunteers who help deliver critical services to survivors and their families. About the Role:
The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for recruiting, training, scheduling, and supporting volunteers to strengthen DVAC’s programs and services. This role ensures volunteers have a meaningful, well-prepared experience that aligns with DVAC’s mission and values while helping expand community impact.

Key Responsibilities:
- Bring in new volunteers and interns through outreach, community events, and partnerships with local schools and programs.
- Lead orientations and trainings that prepare volunteers to support DVAC’s mission with confidence and compassion.
- Coordinate schedules, match volunteers to the right roles, and ensure strong communication across departments.
- Maintain accurate volunteer records, track hours and compliance requirements, and support academic practicum needs.
- Build a positive, inclusive volunteer culture and serve as the main point of contact for all volunteers.
- Recognize volunteer contributions and help strengthen retention through appreciation activities.
- Contribute to reporting, program improvements, and organizational initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and at least two years of volunteer management experience (MSW preferred).
- Strong communication, organization, and supervisory skills.
- Experience in human services, volunteer supervision, or academic partnerships is a plus.
- Knowledge of domestic violence, trauma-informed practices, or crisis intervention is helpful.
- Flexibility to support occasional evening or weekend events.
