Job Description

The Claims Supervisor – Workers Compensation is responsible for directing, administrating, coordinating and managing the activities of the workers compensation claim unit in support of the policies, procedures, goals and objectives of the department and of Island Insurance Company.

This individual develops new or modifies existing workers' compensation claim handling services for the marketplace. Supervises assigned staff and ensures tasks are completed. Serves as subject matter expert and resource to other staff.


  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; College degree preferred.
  • 5 to 10 years workers' compensation claim adjusting experience, and 1 year supervisory experience preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training will be considered.
  • Continuing education in insurance and job related issues and subjects required.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • State of Hawaii Workers' Compensation adjusting license or general adjusting license preferred.
  • Enrollment in or completion of AIC, CPCU, ARM, IIA or other insurance industry courses preferred.
  • Valid Hawaii Driver's license and use of own vehicle required.
