At Hawaii Foodservice Alliance (HFA), we’re looking for a proactive, organized, and relationship-focused Workforce Development & Community Partnerships Coordinator to help connect students and emerging workers with real-world career opportunities.

In this role, you’ll build relationships with schools, community organizations, students, families, and HFA teams while coordinating internships, job shadowing, facility tours, career exploration, and other workforce development opportunities.

What You’ll Do

• Coordinate internships, job shadowing, career exploration, school visits, facility tours, and other workforce pathway activities
• Recruit, onboard, support, and follow up with program participants
• Coordinate with HFA mentors, supervisors, and departments involved in workforce development activities
• Build and maintain relationships with schools, counselors, educators, community organizations, and workforce partners
• Represent HFA at career fairs, school events, community meetings, and recruitment activities
• Coordinate schedules, communications, participant records, event logistics, and basic tracking reports
• Maintain regular communication with students, families, educators, community partners, and internal HFA teams
• Track participation, program outcomes, and activities and provide updates to support continuous improvement
• Help identify opportunities to strengthen HFA’s school, community, and workforce partnerships
• Identify barriers and recommend practical and creative solutions that support participant success and HFA’s workforce needs
• Help develop new ideas and opportunities to introduce students and emerging workers to careers within HFA

• Organized, dependable, and consistent with follow-up and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple activities, events, conversations, and priorities
• Self-motivated and comfortable taking initiative without needing step-by-step direction
• Creative, adaptable, and willing to try new ideas and learn from experience
• Comfortable working with a wide range of people, including students, educators, community partners, managers, and HFA leadership
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office applications and maintaining basic tracking information
• Someone who enjoys being out in the community, building relationships, and creating opportunities for others

Experience

Experience in workforce development, education or student programs, community outreach, recruiting, nonprofit organizations, program coordination, or event planning is helpful, but not required.

We recognize that great experience can come from many places. Equivalent education, professional experience, volunteer service, and community involvement will also be considered.

Additional Requirements

• Ability to travel to schools, community partner locations, and HFA facilities as needed
• Ability to occasionally lift and transport recruitment or event materials
• Availability for occasional evening or weekend events
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred
