POSITION SUMMARY
The Facilitator provides professional, productive, efficient, respectful, compassionate and safe Wrap meeting for the youth, family, and service providers. Responsibilities include meeting with the youth and family, gaining complete and comprehensive knowledge of the youth and families strength and needs. Ensuring that all confirmed key participants have a general but clear understanding of the Wrap process and protocols, making final preparations and adjustments in collaboration with the Lead Facilitator and Wrap Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES include the following:
- Responsible for working in a collaborative environment, with a team of Recorders, Facilitators, Scheduler, Administrative staff, Navigator, Lead Facilitator, and Wrap Manager. Collaborate as needed with all other programs statewide.
- Responsible for collecting, organizing, and analyzing all pre-conference documentation and Wrap files for Wrap meetings prior to the conference.
- Responsible for thorough, compassionate, ethical, efficient, and professional in-person and/or telephone interviewing of all key participants including youth, family, and professional sources to appraise strengths, concerns, and issues pertaining to the meeting.
- Responsible for timely preparation of calls, documentation, and database input regarding all assignments.
- Responsible for accurately documenting detailed information from all key participants such as strengths, concerns, dates of availability, contact information including fax number, telephone, mailing address, and e-mail address provided during preparation calls.
- Responsible for assessing final accommodations needed by all participants prior to the conference, including physically and or hearing challenged individuals, interpreting/translation services, site appropriateness.
- Responsible for timely communication with team, including youth, family, agency and service providers. Verifies and clarifies all information pertinent to the Wrap meeting including major issues, concerns, services with details and directions including date, time, and location of the meeting at least three (3) days prior to the meeting or less on rushed meetings.
- Responsible for securing directions and key, if needed, to the Wrap meeting site including completion of registration and payment, as needed.
- Responsible for confirming the Wrap meeting dates and locations with the youth, parents, family, and service providers one to two (1-2) days before a conference.
- Responsible, in collaboration with the Recorder, for pick-up and delivery of Wrap materials, including food, water, and key or other miscellaneous materials prior to the meeting.
- Responsible for providing outreach services as needed regarding but not limited to Wrap and EPIC services in-person information to family and or other key participants who may not reached otherwise.
- Responsible for assessing final recommendations, as needed, by all participants prior to the conference, including physically and or hearing challenged individuals, interpreting/translation service, and site appropriateness.
- Responsible for writing and/or finalizing the Wrap Report including amending and editing until satisfactory completion of reports no later than ten (10) days from the date of the meeting and sooner on rushed requests.
- Responsible for having current knowledge on all new procedures, policies, and protocols and directions.
- Appropriately seek peer mentoring as needed from other Wrap Facilitators as well as daily supervision, mentoring, and coaching, from the Lead Facilitator and Wrap Manager.
OTHER DUTIES/FUNCTIONS
- Recorder duties, as assigned.
- Perform other related duties, as required and assigned.
- Attend and participate at trainings, all staff meetings, and individual supervision, as scheduled.
- Regular attendance, required.
- Recommend improvements and/or enhancements of job processes and work environment to ensure high quality levels of service deliverables.
- Addressees appropriate needs with supervisor and/or manager.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher learning; and/or
- A minimum of one (1) year related experience and/or training; or
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be able to maintain an ethical, responsible, and professional attitude and demeanor under all circumstances in person, by phone, e-mail, and correspondence, in order to effectively and efficiently engage and maintain working relationships with families, professionals, who are undergoing complex and crises situations.
- Successful criminal and child abuse and neglect background clearance as required by state regulations for those who work with children and families in the Child Welfare System.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification, training will be provided.
- Valid driver’s license, acceptable motor vehicle abstract2, and access to an insured, reliable vehicle is needed.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Familiarity with the Foster Care System (DHS-CWS) strongly preferred.
- Experience in a nonprofit setting, strongly preferred.
- Individual with experience working with families whose children have been harmed or threatened with harm and in facilitation and/or mediation, preferred.
- Individual with culturally relevant training and/or experience specific to the community served, preferred.
Pay:
- $20 to $24 per hour, commensurate with experience
- Position is non-exempt (overtime eligible)
