Our client is seeking an experienced accounting clerk to join their team and perform accounts payable and accounts receivable duties. The qualified candidate will have an understanding of purchase order systems and how it's applicable to payables since client uses a custom software and wants someone long-term to invest in and train. Responsibilities

  • Assist with accounts receivable tasks (i.e., prepare deposit activities, code/post payments, process credit card payments, monitor customer accounts).
  • Assist with account payables tasks (i.e., verify and process purchase orders, sort and code invoices and data, analyze discrepancies and unpaid invoices).
  • Assist with month end reporting procedures.
  • Track and audit petty cash.
  • Perform filing and general administrative tasks.
  • Assist Controller with various duties.
  • Perform other duties as requested.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in accounting.
  • 3-5 years' experience in clerical accounting.
  • Fluent in Japanese (speak, read, and write) a plus.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting and bookkeeping principles and procedures.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and working experience with QuickBooks.
  • Knowledgeable with computers and software.
  • Strong communication (verbal, written, interpersonal) and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Motivated, dependable, hardworking.
