Accounting Manager (199099-5)

A reputable contractor with over 75 years in business is looking for an Accounting Manager to join their team. This key individual will be responsible for the day to day operations of the accounting department and will play an essential role in ensuring that department responsibilities are complete and accurate. Applicants for this role will need at least five years of accounting experience and a background in construction accounting and knowledge of Sage Timberline is highly desirable.




Honolulu, Oahu


  • Actively manage the day-to-day activities of AR and AP.
  • Ensure payment and collections are timely.
  • Assist team in the daily operations to eliminate backlog or delayed payments.
  • Identify, research, and resolve discrepancies as they arise, act as a resource for the team to help resolve issues.
  • Enter subcontracts, change orders, jobs based on information from Project Manager/Engineer.
  • Ensure AP entries are properly coded, imported, and appropriately selected for payment based on cash receipts.
  • Analyze balance sheet aging accounts, research, and reconcile all variances.
  • Monthly reconciliation of all AR & AP related GL accounts, credit cards, gas cards.
  • Develop policies, procedures, and systems to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ensure that the company?s accounting policies and procedures are properly implemented, consistently followed, and updated as needed.
  • Responsible for resolution of personnel issues, performance evaluation, and professional development of the accounting team.
  • Engage in critical and confidential aspects of the accounting department.


  • Bachelor?s degree in accounting.
  • At least 5 years of accounting experience. Construction accounting experience highly desirable.
  • Experience with Sage Timberline desired.
  • Highly motivated, self-starter with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
