Accounts Payable Specialist (222532-04)
As a key member of our finance team, you will play a crucial role in managing our accounts payable processes, ensuring accurate and timely payments, and maintaining financial records. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to our mission-driven work while utilizing your accounting skills in a dynamic and supportive environment. *Must be available for events on the weekend as needed.

Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm

Pay
$20 to $23 an hour
Responsibilities
- Process and verify vendor invoices, check requests, employee reimbursements, and other accounts payable transactions in the accounting system.
- Prepare and process payments including check runs, electronic payments, and approved disbursements while monitoring due dates to ensure timely payment.
- Maintain organized accounts payable records, reconcile vendor statements, and resolve discrepancies.
- Review, code, and reconcile credit card transactions and assist with accounts receivable and general bookkeeping tasks as needed.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, audit preparation, and adherence to internal financial controls.
- Communicate professionally with vendors and staff while providing general finance and administrative support.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Bookkeeping, or related field, with at least two years of accounts payable, bookkeeping, or general accounting experience preferred.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, with knowledge of accounts payable processes and recordkeeping.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Effective communication and customer service skills, with the ability to identify discrepancies, research issues, and maintain confidentiality.
- Dependable team player able to work independently and collaboratively; knowledge of nonprofit/fund accounting and GAAP is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license preferred with flexibility to travel to events and work occasional weekends.
