Job Description

Seeking a dependable Administrative Assistant for a local law firm that has been in business for over 30 years. Since this role will assist with some billing duties, prior bookkeeping or accounting experience is preferred.

  • Greet incoming clients.
  • Answer phone calls, transfer callers, and take accurate messages.
  • Receive and distribute incoming mail. Prepare outgoing mail.
  • Receive payments (cash/checks/credit cards) and process payments through the accounting system.
  • Cut checks through the accounting system.
  • Handle wire transfers and other EFT transactions.
  • Reconcile payments with clients' accounts.
  • Make bank deposits.
  • Maintain physical invoice files for attorneys.
  • Order and purchase supply items and maintain inventory.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


  • Some prior accounting/bookkeeping experience preferred.
  • Law office experience not required but a plus.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office. Ability to learn accounting software (TABS3).
  • Strong eye for detail.
  • Good record-keeping skills.
