This is an excellent opportunity to join an established local organization where you'll work closely with company leadership, clients, trustees, legal counsel, consultants, and other professionals while playing an important role in both client service and internal operations.
Hours
Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00 am- 5:00 pm
Location
Honolulu, Oahu
Pay
$80,000 a year, Depending on experience
Responsibilities
- Attend client meetings, benefit fairs, union membership, new hire orientation and conferences.
- Receive and respond to client inquiries including benefit and claim questions and issues.
- Review and analysis of monthly financial statements and disbursements.
- Prepare and finalize meeting minutes, reports and agenda items.
- Management of internal relationships to ensure compliance with client-specific procedures.
- Interpretation & application of Plan Documents & Summary Plan Descriptions (SPD), and other policies.
- Planning, analyzing and evaluating information and company output relevant to assigned client projects.
- Manager to the assigned department supervisor(s) to assist with staff development and performance.
- Assist department supervisor(s) to manage and coordinate department workload for timely completion of assigned responsibilities and projects.
- Reviews client coverage contracts and amendments for accuracy.
- Market new and renewal business.
- Manage proposals for renewals, identify content.
- Prepare employee, client and vendor communication material.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent; 5+ years of related professional experience.
- Previous supervisory or management experience required.
- Strong client relationship skills with the ability to communicate effectively with trustees, legal counsel, consultants, plan participants, and internal teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present information to groups.
- Strong organization, project management, and time-management skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret complex contracts, plan documents, and other legal or technical information.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Occasional neighbor island and mainland travel for meetings and conferences.
- Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle required.
