A housing corporation is seeking a skilled Asset Manager to join their team. This role is critical in supporting the corporation's housing projects, both directly owned and in partnerships with private limited partners. Hours

Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm with some weekends and evenings as needed

Pay

$85,000 to $90,000 a year

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee activities of property management firms hired to manage properties in the corporation's real estate portfolio.
  • Formulate and operate management programs and tenant support services.
  • Manage long-term and physical livability of a 15 project, 939 rental unit portfolio, including commercial spaces and related support services for families, elderly, and special needs tenants.
  • Assist Director of Finance and Asset Management in managing all aspects of the portfolio's administrative, financial, capital, and operations.
  • Develop master asset management plan and administer risk analysis to determine project risk profile.
  • Manage cash flow and physical assets such as property and real estate.
  • Drive asset performance by increasing operating efficiencies, reducing costs, and capturing portfolio revenue increases.
  • Ensure compliance with partnership and limited liability corporation agreements, as well as government, tax-exempt, and tax credit regulatory requirements.
  • Supervise and monitor property management agents' effectiveness in operations and compliance with standard practices.
  • Review variances monthly, establish performance benchmarks, and recommend action or revisions of project operating budgets.
  • Review annual financial and compliance audits and regularly inspect each property.
  • Negotiate contracts affecting portfolio.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High degree of autonomy and good judgment.
  • At least 10 years of experience as a real estate property management manager.
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred.
  • Reliable vehicle.
  • Knowledgeable in fair housing laws, real estate property management operations, tax-exempt bond and government financing, and tax credit programs in the affordable housing market.
  • Proficient in Yardi Property Management software and MS Office.
  • Excellent math, writing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret financial audits, statements, and tax returns.
  • Experience in reviewing and managing project property budgets.
  • Skilled in preparing and presenting various types of presentations to groups.
  • Capable of working independently and resolving problems and conflicts.
  • Ability to independently manage oversight of property management companies.
