Join a stable local company with over a decade in business. Our client is seeking an Assistant Buyer to help provide administrative support including item maintenance, claims processing and purchase order confirmations.

Qualified candidates will have their associate's degree and 1 year of working experience.

  • Assist buyers with system maintenance of items.
  • Process and expedite purchase orders for local vendors.
  • Verify item data to determine if valid to implement into the company?s system.
  • Assist buyers in confirming purchase order prices and identifies any discrepancies.
  • Assist buyers in researching new products and providing landed cost quotes to the sales team.
  • Assist buyers in processing vendor claims for samples and damages.
  • Track progress of all customer complaints and ensure all issues are resolved
  • Review data integrity reports for discrepancies and work with buyers to make corrections.
  • Work directly with new vendors to ensure all on required paperwork is completed.
  • Work directly with existing vendors to request paperwork renewals for letters of guarantee, certificate of insurance and HACCP plan.
  • Perform clerical duties such as typing correspondence, filling vendor proposals, certifications, bids and support documents.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


  • Associate's degree in marketing, business administration, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a business-related field preferred. Foodservice industry is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to learn new things quickly.
